The Block is a registered charity in Liverpool, it supports over 200 veterans a year facing crisis and is opening a new centre on the Wirral
Every week veterans travel from the Wirral to Walton Road to meet with staff at the Block Armed Forces Foundation support centre. Mental health, homelessness, loneliness and addiction is responsible for harming more of our veterans than war itself self. Our veterans deserve more.

According to Office for National Statistics Wirral on Merseyside has the highest population of veterans in the Liverpool city region, its only right that those veterans receive the support they deserve.

Based on official data from the Office for National Statistics (ONS) in 2021 Wirral has the most veterans among the requested areas in the Liverpool City Region.
Here is the official breakdown of the total number of veterans living in each of the four areas:
Local Authority Area Total Veteran Population (Census 2021)
🎖️ Wirral 13,302 veterans (13,103 in households + 199 in communal establishments)
🏙️ Liverpool 12,580 veterans (12,174 in households + 406 in communal establishments)
🌊 Sefton 10,880 veterans (10,636 in households + 244 in communal establishments)
🌳 Knowsley ~4,000–5,000 veterans (the smallest veteran population of the four due to a smaller overall total population)
