Aim: On the 19th May - 25th May, I will be cycling from Lands End to Brighton, to raise funds for my new Sea Safety Book.
Hello everyone,
From the 19th May to the 25th May I will be cycling from Lands End to Brighton to raise funds for my new Sea Safety Book. My new Sea Safety 2nd edition book encompasses not only how to help children, families and the local community about how to stay safe while visiting our beaches or sea but also underpins ways in which we can help keep the sea itself safe and all the wonderful wildlife that live within it.
I feel incredibly honoured to have written about the wonderful work that Surfers Against Sewage, Sussex Underwater, Anglers Line Recycling and other local heroes do locally and nationally to help protect and save our seas. From reading about the inspirational work that these charities and organisations do through my book, I hope that children will feel empowered to think of ideas and projects to help better the situation that currently faces our waterways, seas and oceans.
As a teacher I know how underfunded schools are so I am going to be raising funds that cover the cost of getting my second edition Sea Safety book into schools for free, through a Crowdfunder and I will be cycling my journey of 400 plus miles wearing a poo emoji costume to highlight the devastating consequences sewage pollution is having on our seas and waterways but also to raise awareness, in a hope that we can all work together to find a positive solution to this problem that we all face. If you would like to donate to my Crowdfunder however big or small, I would be truly grateful and I cannot wait for my cycle adventure to begin.
Thank you for all your support,
Becky
