Our clubhouse is the heart of our community – Phase 1 of the extension: A spacious new bar and function room, Modern changing rooms
GOLDS (Goldfields Organisation for Local Development of Sports) is a community-driven charity dedicated to developing and supporting grassroots sport in Greetland and the surrounding area. The organisation provides facilities, funding, and opportunities for local clubs and young people, helping to promote active lifestyles, community engagement, and long-term sporting growth. GOLDS plays a vital role in ensuring that sport remains accessible, inclusive, and sustainable for everyone in the community.

Golds took over the lease of the Goldfields facility in 2021. Since then, both sports clubs have experienced significant growth in membership and participation. Over the past few years, this rapid expansion has meant that we have now outgrown our existing facility.
We are seeking funding to extend the current building so that we can create a shared clubhouse that properly meets the needs of both clubs, supports continued growth, and provides a safe, inclusive, and sustainable space for our members and the wider community.

Our clubhouse is the heart of our community – a place where friends gather, teams celebrate, and memories are made.
In 2024 Planning Permission to Extend the Club House was approved.
Now, we’re taking it to the next level with Phase 1 of the extension:
A spacious new bar and function room for events, celebrations, and community gatherings
Modern changing rooms for players of all ages
Extra storage space to support all our activities
We can’t do this alone. With your support, we can create a clubhouse that’s not just bigger, but better – a true hub for everyone in our community.

The funds raised will be used to extend and improve the existing Goldfields facility to create a modern, shared clubhouse that meets the needs of both sports clubs.
Specifically, the funding will be allocated to:
Building extension works, including foundations, structure, roofing, and internal fit-out to increase usable space
Improved changing rooms and storage, ensuring adequate capacity, accessibility, and safeguarding standards
A shared social and meeting space, providing a welcoming clubhouse for players, volunteers, officials, and the wider community
Accessible facilities, including inclusive toilets and step-free access to ensure the building is usable by all
Utilities and services upgrades, such as heating, lighting, insulation, and electrical works to support year-round use
The proposed extension of the Goldfields facility will deliver significant and lasting benefits to the local community. By providing a modern, shared clubhouse, the project will support increased participation in sport, improve health and wellbeing, and strengthen community connections.
The improved facility will allow both clubs to:
Increase participation across all age groups, including junior, senior, and veteran teams, by providing adequate space and facilities
Support youth development, offering a safe and positive environment for young people to build confidence, teamwork, and life skills
Improve inclusion and accessibility, ensuring people of all abilities, genders, and backgrounds can take part in sport and social activities
Enhance volunteer and coach support, providing suitable spaces for training, meetings, and welfare provision
Reduce pressure on local services, by promoting physical activity, mental wellbeing, and social engagement
Provide a community hub, creating a flexible space that can be used for community meetings, events, education sessions, and local initiatives outside of match days
In the long term, the project will help ensure the sustainability of both clubs, safeguard local sporting provision, and create a welcoming community asset that will benefit residents for many years to come.
