To Collaborate, To Innovate and To Grow. We're changing to an all new coffee shop and bakery in one.

The Back Story
After much soul- searching and deliberation we have decided to bring two into one. Over the last year, we’ve been pushed to the brink with scaffolding, energy issues, break-ins and ever rising costs. Sadly this has come at a personal cost across the Orchard team.
All this has led us to realise that we need to consolidate operations to keep the dream alive. This means we’ll be closing the doors at 51 Clouds Hill Road and relocating the bakery across the road inside The Orchard Coffee and Co. It will be a new look and feel that should hopefully bring us through the troubled times – which most of us are faced with.
You have been loyal supporters and we’re grateful for every one that’s walked in the door and bought a loaf of bread, a pastry or even some delicious cake. But we humbly ask if you could stretch a little more?
How we wish that we could move for free, but sadly it’s not possible. We’ve got some bulky equipment to shift and have to get everything up and running. We’ve set up a crowdfunder to help assist with the costs.

The Big and Bulky Move
Our vision is to establish a unique one-stop bakery and brunch spot in St George - where you can buy the bread you've just eaten under those freckled eggs, to enjoy later with a wedge of butter or whatever tickles your fancy.
The new space is bigger, which in turn will allow us to train and recruit more bakers in an ever-declining industry.
And of course, the bakery will be a Warm Space during those icy winter days as the bread ovens warm up this gorgeous old chapel.

Why Crowdfund Us?
Let's Keep Bristol Independent!
In the face of huge redevelopment and regeneration, we want to play a part in keeping our high streets independent. We are a small, fiercely independent company that is run by amazingly beautiful people day to day.
At a time when some of our favourite local pubs and restaurants are closing their doors, we have been able to continue to grow our team providing jobs in the community.
Over the years, we’ve reinvested every penny of our surplus back into the business as we continually strive to innovate and improve. However, rising costs and overheads have tipped us into deficit. We’re hoping that with your help we will be able to get this collaboration off the ground in a way that directly supports the growth of the business, the development of our staff and well-being of our community.
We are so aware that the cost-of-living crisis has affected so many and know that it’s a difficult time to be asking for help. Anything is appreciated and we’ll make sure every pound is stretched!
In return, to say thank you, well offer you a subscription for baked goodies and meals – with a promise that we will do all we humanly can to make sure The Orchard continues to serve the community for years to come.
