The Beat of Us: A Rhythm That Connects Alaska
The vision has been brewing for over a decade — and it’s finally coming to life with the support of the Anchorage Concert Association and iBucketDrum LLC. Together, we’re launching The Beat of Us!
A celebration of our Alaskan community of drummers with an added value of a musical arts residency we hope will grow into an annual celebration of the drum, culture, and connection across Alaska.
This year, we’re honored to bring world-renowned percussionist Jared Choc Crawford to Anchorage and The MatSu for a week of music, mentorship, and collaboration.
Your support will help to specifically cover:
- Hands-on school workshops will introduce over 500 students across Palmer and Anchorage to this unique percussion experience and creative expression with a world renowned drummer and educator.
- Your contribution helps produce a free public performance uniting Alaska drummers, families, and artists from all backgrounds. This culminating event will welcome hundreds of community members to celebrate rhythm as a universal language that bridges cultures and generations.
- Funds also support filming for upcoming Late Nite Alaska episodes, capturing the energy, artistry, and community spirit behind this project, sharing Alaska’s creative heartbeat with audiences statewide and beyond.
- Your gift directly supports artist travel, teaching time, collaboration, and event production, ensuring these experiences remain free and accessible to everyone.
