In a world where fake news, audited real lives and compare despair exists, I want us to create a platform where we can submit and access unfiltered information.

The problem

We are comparing our real lives to the filtered life we see on social media. 

But beyond that, we have no idea what is going on in people's heads/ hearts/ life but we insist on being jealous/ criticising them, all the while we are missing out on our own life. On being present. This is leading to an increase in mental health issues and a constant overwhelming feeling that we are behind/ not good enough.



The solution

The Authentic DatA Revolution website.

There is nowhere that offers honest data about the human beings around you with the ability to filter to your needs. 

Unless you trudge through heavy governments surveys you cannot find information that has been inputted by individuals themselves and is unaltered and honest.

The website

The landing page (Stage One – aim to be live by 31 March 2020)

TADAR.org will take you to a simple page with a few sentences about TADAR and a space to enter your email address.

The questionnaire (Stage One – aim to be live by 30 April 2020)

You will then be taken through to the 44 questions that will all be multi-choice answers for you to select from.

Thank you page (Stage One - aim to be live by 30 April 2020)

The first 10,000 people will be taken to a Thank You page and contacted in the future once the Information viewing element of the website (below) is live.

Access to data (Stage Two – aim to be live by 30 June 2020)

This part of the website is going to be the most complex to build to make sure it is both secure and visually pleasing. This will commence once we have 5000 questionnaires answered. As a marketer with over a decade's experience I understand the importance of a strong marketing strategy including working with professionals in PR, PPC advertising, copywriting and imagery to get me the first 5000 people.

The long term impact

I want TADAR to be a global success. I want it to be the Wikipedia of human information. I want it to generate so much data that it comes as an automatic go-to for people from different sides of the world, socio-econmoic groups, lifestyles and so much more. I want it to connect us and through this I want it to fund initiatives that help positive change happen.

FAQ’s

How Is it anonymous if it’s the alternative to Instagram?

First of all, the only personal identifiable data we collect from you is your email address. This is simply so we can send you updates and each 6 months or one year ask you to reassess your responses. Your email address will NEVER be given or sold in any way, shape or form to ANY third party.

Even though it is the antidote to the highlight reel it is not image based. Individuals will not upload a single image. The team at TADAR will create beautiful info graphics and imagery out of the wider data we collect.

 

So is this an app?

Not at the first stage. It is starting as a website with the view to also build an app with further investment. You can see above what the website will look like

 

What are the questions?

They begin with basics; gender, race, nationality, age, sexuality, location etc.

They will then move into areas such as; money, health, career, relationships, habits etc.

 

Why are you the best person to do this and why should I trust you?

I purchased the original domain for this project 10 years ago. This is not a whim or a random thought, this is something I am hugely passionate about an opportunity to make the world a little better.

I believe a combination of me being born and brought up in Blackpool, having an almost 15 year long career in marketing and as a coach, having experienced severe depression and a philosophy that we are all connected, we are all bags of flesh filled with blood and bones and we need to do all we can to make our time on this incredible planet as beautiful as it can be.

Why has nobody done this so far? Is it going to work?

Seems crazy doesn’t it, but they haven’t! In the words of Big Magic (Elizabeth Gilbert) I believe that ideas come to you and if they keep niggling at you (7 years!!!) it is the Universe saying “You have the perfect blend of skill, knowledge, life experience, understanding and passion to be the creator of this”. I truly believe I am meant to be the founder of an honest data website. After all my name, Verity, means TRUTH, so it was always written in the stars!

And it will work because the passion I have in my heart and bones for this project, the business knowledge I have as a marketer and the supportive network I have built around me over the past few decades make it inevitable.

 

Data scares me!

This data is driven by individuals for individuals. The data cannot be manipulated or corrupted. It will be displayed in the raw state that we received it in. I also believe data should be beautiful and aspire to work towards visuals such as these.

Verity Brown | Founder 

Verity Brown is a marketer, coach and now social enterprise founder. She has an almost 15 year career in marketing and was born and bred in Blackpool. For the last 3 years she has also helped many women through her life and business coaching, networking events and podcast that she co-hosts. She is a proud queer woman and now lives in the Lake District.

The original body of this text was written several days after the tragic suicide of Caroline Flack. It has simply cemented one of the reasons this project is so important to me. We need to start living our truth, we need to stop fearing our truth and we need others to accept our truth.

More about the founder

I grew up in one of the 10 poorest postcodes in the UK, in the seaside town of Blackpool. My desire to learn earned me a free place in a private school and my parents aided a belief in me that I could be and achieve anything my heart ached for.

After a Fashion Marketing degree and a decade long career in marketing in UK cities, I became a life and business coach; advising womxn all around the world how to Stop Existing And Start Actually Living Today (the SEASALT plan).

And then I realised something. Nearly every client I worked with had a totally different inner world to the outer world they were projecting. Outer world = successful business, inner world = clinical depression. Outer world = big house and new car, inner world = tens of thousands in debt. 

The beauty of the Instagram highlight reel, the best bits, the flattering photos, the slightly exaggerated claims was misleading. I didn't want to go to the extreme of people posting photos of them crying on the bathroom floor or screenshots of their pile of debt - but there needed to be a middle ground.

There was a danger. A danger that we are comparing our real life with someone else's reel life. And, in some strange twisted way someone else was comparing their real life to our reel life. 

The Trump Campaign, BREXIT and the 2019 General Election are all great examples of marketing (my chosen profession) gone toxic and demonstrating the manipulation of individuals; mainly those in possession of lower socio-economic statuses.

I believe data should be accessible to all. It should be honest, beautiful and easy to understand no matter who wants to access it.

How will the money be spent?

Branding and design are also absolutely key to ensure when the project is launched it is visually enticing, so the budget will also go to achieving this. Plus PR support, PPC advertising and a professional video to help with future angel and venture capitalist funding. It will also allow for first stage of the website.

The Cumbria Business Growth Hub will offer a 40% subsidy (max. £4k) meaning that my £3k/£10k will turn into £4.2k/£14k.

The stretch budget (£10k) will go to a bespoke website that is fully secure, user friendly and technically advanced. This means hiring both front end and back end developers to deliver a product that fulfils the brief.
