Aim

Calling all astrology girlies and theatre lovers! Help us bring The Astrolo-J Monologues to theatres near you, by pledging your support.

"I’m walking out the club, after djing my last ever DJ set. The room is hot and sweaty. And Daft Punk closes the room with energy and lust for one more tune, one more tune. As I leave this young girl stops me. She’s about 19, a student. I can tell from her high pitch squeal meeting me, face to face, snapchatting selfies with filters.

My co-star told me this morning I’d meet my guardian angel. And here you are… I see you’re giving up djing to make it in the theatre biz. You know what you should do? Write a play for me. Tell me about all the awful one night stands and men who’ve messed you about. Do it for us. The gen z’ers who need a free therapist. And read our birth charts.

I say to her, you know what, maybe you’re right. Maybe I will." -  from

The Project

What started out as a self funded storytelling sharing  back in January, with a series of new writing/interactive pieces for audiences to offer feedback, has now got us here. The future. A new autobiographical play centred around sex positivity and embracing our messiness whilst relying on co-star for dating advice.

Award winning writer, performer and presenter Jordan S. Daniel  (BBC Scotland, National Theatre of Scotland, Union Theatre) is looking for your help to develop their newest one person show all about dating horror stories. An interactive one person show, full of humour, raunchy stories and the things that DO NOT go right when you meet someone {drunk} on the dance floor. All by using the astrology wheel as a questionable guide. Aimed for audiences 18+ and including difficult themes of dating Leos, alcohol fuelled one night stands and learning to love yourself through your mistakes.

Your pledges

With your help, Jordan S. Daniel will be able to work with their collaborator, Kate Stamoulis on developing the text and shape of the script - before looking at ways to bring the show to  theatre venues later this year and in 2026. We are seeking funds currently to cover costs for a space to research and develop the script, financial costs for both Jordan and Kate, travel stipends, accessibility costs related to Jordan's Cystic Fibrosis and costs towards costume, music equipment, musical performances and make up to use during a research and development.

Where you come in

Through your pledges, The Astrolo-J Monologues will be able to evolve and become a first drafted play that exemplifies the queer nightlife experience and holds space for the rapid decline of nightlife since the pandemic. How we must keep the cultural and safety of nightlife and cabaret alive. This is a piece of theatre for anyone who fell in love on the dancefloor and woke up hungover and questioned their whole existence. A love letter to the queer community and those who inspired us to be out and proud. All through romanticised experiences guided by birth charts. Your pledges will ensure sustainability for the arts, during a challenging time financially for many. As a mesh of disabled and queer collective, we know the obstacles and determination it requires to continue developing work during a rocky time politically. Jordan, growing up working class, knows the social barriers of classism in the industry and this pledge will help our creative team push through - and - ideally seek future producing support once the project is complete. Your input is where the magic happens. By contributing - you are providing audiences with art. With life. With dating tips. Red flag warnings. And for that, we'd be in debt to you.

Taurus placements - we are counting on you, especially! ;-)

My best wishes to you besties for your support,

Jordan x
