I'm fundraising for a thematic series of acclaimed art replicas made in my room, introducing you to new independent artist & masterpieces
Dear friends,
My name is Vladimir Shcherban - I am an independent theatre maker with a multicultural background. I was born in Ukraine, spent my youth in Belarus and have been living in London (the UK) for the last twelve years. Today I am looking for your help in developing my publicly available online project of making art replicas on works of world art.
I started this hobby three years ago, when the world was on pause and, like many of you, I couldn't work in my profession because all theatres were closed. I saw a group on social media where people at home were recreating famous paintings and sculptures out of the tools they had to hand.
I decided to try and discovered a fascinating new kind of art - a unique mix of painting, theatre, photography and illusion. And most importantly, my reconstructions got a fantastic response from the public and professionals, such as world-renowned illustrator Gérard Dubois, the fabulous Sue Tilley, Lucien Freud's favourite model, as well as thousands of art lovers around the world. With many of them I developed a friendship.
Over three years I have made more than a hundred art replicas in my room in London. I used everything I had to hand, shooting everything on my old phone.Little by little, an enjoyable hobby turned into a very important project for me, to which I am completely devoted, and which helped me to overcome a difficult period.
This year I want to expand the format and do several thematic cycles. In one of them I want you to meet the works of independent Belarusian artists, both mature artists and beginners. And also to present visual gems from the Francis Skaryna Belarusian Library in London.
Each stage of creating an art replica will be unique and go beyond the image itself. I will be inviting different people from all over the world to participate for the recreations, doing interviews with them and, if possible, with artists and sculptors. And of course I will continue to introduce you to the best of international art and the funny stories behind them.
All these years I have been sharing my creative experiments with the world, with sincerity and generosity. This is why I now turn to you. I really need your support to make this happen.
My technical equipment can no longer keep up with me. I need a new computer along with image and video software, 2 lights and a microphone. I have already purchased a new camera.
I will be grateful for any contribution to this important project, and I guarantee to introduce you regularly to interesting people and continue to delight you with new replicas of works of art, which contain the invaluable experience of humanity.
After all, it is art that will save the world. I know this from my own experience.
All my works are in the public domain on my social pages, please follow me
