Aviva Community Fund has provided £10,138 of match funding
We want to raise money to fund our kitchen.
The Archer Project has a proven history of transforming the lives of the vulnerable and homeless from Sheffield and the wider region.
We are using the Aviva community fund to raise money for one of the most vital parts of our Project, our kitchen. Providing food and a safe space to enjoy it has always been at the heart of our work. It is a basic need and the increase in price of basics such as sugar, milk, bread, eggs, sausages and bacon means we are struggling to meet the costs.

Our canteen is much more than just a place to eat. For people who live on the streets it is a place of warmth and welcome, a safe place to talk and eat without judgement. For us it is the ideal place to build relationships and start the journey of moving away from the street.
But it is more than that too. In our kitchen we have people who once lived on the street helping us cook, wash up, clean and maintain the standards any kitchen needs. It is a place which gives people a new sense of purpose, new skills and a platform to grow a better life.

These are difficult times for our kitchen. As well as the increased food and energy costs we are seeing more and more people coming to our Project needing a warm meal. We are currently feeding 65 people at breakfast and 65 at lunch. The food and drinks we supply currently cost the Project £1800 a month, £21,600 a year. We want to ensure that we never have to reduce the quality of meals. On a couple of occasions recently we have run out of food at lunch time and had to make sandwiches or provide cold snacks. Help us to meet the increased costs so that we can afford enough food for everyone who comes to us.
By supporting us now, the Aviva Community fund will match any donation up to £250, this matched funding will be monumental for the stability of our kitchen. Any donations will be spent directly on the kitchen, ensuring we have enough food for a full service, cleaning costs, volunteer costs and partial funding towards our kitchen managers salary.
Please consider donating and sharing this appeal. If you require any more information about our project, please email [email protected]
