We need to relocate then rebuild our cattery for the rescue cats and kittens including isolation/quarantine areas
UPDATE ; We now have a new property and aim to be on our way in 6-8 weeks. Let's get the funds in place to rebuild the pens etc to allow us to start taking in the poor souls who desperately need our care
The Arc opened in November 2013 officially after I had been saving lives of cats and kittens for numerous years prior to that date. In the last 5 years myself and the volunteers have worked tirelessly to raise funds to be able to provide the best care, vet treatment, food, litter etc etc for every single cat who came through our doors. We have saved so many lives but sadly lost some along the way. Sometimes the only way to save a poor soul is to help them to their eternal sleep.
We take in stray, feral, neglected, sick and injured cats saving them from the streets along with cats whose owners for whatever reason can no longer care for them. An average vet bill for some of these poor cats is £500+ but we raise the funds and the cats are given the best chance.
In November of 2018 life was turned upside down when a new neighbour complained to the local authority. A petition to save the rescue was set up by one of our supporters which got over 22,000 signatures. To cut a long story short, I am now unable to take cats into my home to care for them and make them well again. While I live in my home that I've loved for over 13 years I simply cannot continue helping the cats. I have to move away, there is no other choice.
I have now sold my house and I'm trying desperately to find a new property with land (preferably away from people) so that The Arc can relocate. My other problem is that I will need to rebuild all the cattery buildings and the isolation/quarantine blocks. My budget won't stretch that far sadly.
The money I raise will help us to relocate and rebuild everything we need to get The Arc back on it's feet again. So many cats and kittens are absolutely desperate for help and there simply aren't enough rescues to cope with it all. We need The Arc back up and running properly as soon as possible
