The Prize
Enter the Textile Society’s prize draw for the chance to win a beautifully crafted Welsh blanket, woven by the London Cloth Co. at Elvet Mill, Carmarthen. Elvet Mill is one of the last fully operational woollen mills in Wales.
There are two blankets to be won:
Prize A: a double cloth weave Penmachno pattern in Grey, White & Black, with blanket stitch edge.
Prize B: plain weave stripe in Red and Black with fringing detail.
These unique pieces celebrate the rich tradition of Welsh textile craftsmanship. All proceeds from the draw support the Textile Society UK’s efforts in promoting the study of textiles, supporting curators, researchers and makers, and preserving textile heritage for future generations. By taking part, you’re not only in with a chance of owning a truly special Welsh blanket—you’re also helping to sustain and celebrate the textile arts in the UK.
These blankets were generously donated to The Textile Society by Daniel Harris, founder of The London Cloth Company.
The Cause
The Textile Society promotes the study of textile disciplines and celebrates the history and culture of textiles, both traditional and contemporary.
Established in 1982 as an educational charity, the Textile Society gives support to students, designers, historians and practitioners through its educational and professional awards. Please visit www.textilesociety.org.uk for more details.
How to Enter
Entries to the prize draw can be made via Crowdfunder.co.uk or by post.
Tickets are £5 each or £10 for three entries. If you prefer not to make a donation, postal entries are also accepted. The closing date is 30 November 2025.
For postal entries please send a postcard clearly marked "Textile Society Prize Draw". Include your full name, email address or telephone number. Send to 25 Springfield Road, LU7 2QS. All entries must be received by the closing date of 30 November to be eligible.
Please note, this prize draw is open to UK residents only. This is due to the limitations of posting the prize to the ultimate winner.
All proceeds help fund the Textile Society’s ongoing work in textile education and conservation.
