Tennis Able is an award-winning non-profit organisation specialising in inclusive tennis programmes for players of all abilities. It is led by Derek Perry, a renowned tennis coach with more than a decade of experience in coaching inclusive tennis. Tennis Able offers inclusive tennis at the East Anglia Tennis & Squash Club in Norwich, as well as at various schools, colleges and charities around Norfolk. Tennis Able provides coaching sessions for players with different impairments, such as Down's syndrome, learning or physical disabilities including wheelchair users and for players with mental health issues. Their objective is to help players improve their playing ability, fitness, confidence, and social skills through the sport of tennis.
Tennis Able is a not-for-profit organisation. While we receive some funding from our partners, the Norfolk Lawn Tennis Association (NLTA) & Lawn Tennis Association (LTA), we rely on additional funding and essential sponsorship to run our sessions. Some of the organisations and schools we work with contribute to costs, however all our sessions are available for free or at a nominal, highly subsidised rate. Funding makes an immediate and very direct, positive impact. With your funding we can help people become tennis players and achieve things neither they, nor their families, ever thought possible.

Over the last year we have worked with more than 120 different players aged between 8 and 65+, from players with learning issues and full mobility, to those requiring complex care and help to hold a tennis racket. We can work on an individual basis and also with partner organisations and schools. We don’t just teach people how to play tennis: Tennis Able players come off court having gained huge volumes of confidence and self-belief.

There are four simple ways to help us reach our target, and make this project a reality.
1. Make a pledge. Don’t delay if you’re going to support us because momentum is key to our success!
2. Spread the word. Share our project on your social media pages and tell the world to get behind us! The more people we reach, the more support we will get.
3. Offer rewards. Get involved if you are a local business by donating things we can offer to our supporters. We will give you a shout out!
4. Fundraise for us. If you want to run your own fundraiser – maybe a sponsored activity or similar – use the 'contact project' button at the top of our page to let us know. Setting up your own page only takes a few minutes and you won’t need any bank details. Just a fun idea!
