Aim: We’re expanding the Pobal Parish League to include all kids—especially girls, rural youth, and those with additional needs.
Who are we?
Tempo Maguires GAC is a proud, community-driven Gaelic Athletic Club in the heart of County Fermanagh. For generations, we’ve been developing local talent and fostering a love of Gaelic games. Our ethos is rooted in inclusion, participation, and pride—on and off the pitch. The Pobal Parish League is one of our standout community initiatives, bringing together children from across the parish for fun, fitness, and friendship through sport.
Why are we crowdfunding?
We want to expand the Pobal Parish League to reach more children—especially those who haven’t traditionally been involved in Gaelic games. This includes girls, children with disabilities, and young people from rural or disadvantaged backgrounds. We’re crowdfunding to help remove barriers to participation by offering inclusive coaching, transport support, and beginner-friendly training. This project is eligible for Sport NI’s “Creating Opportunities” match-funding programme because it delivers a new, targeted initiative focused on levelling the playing field.
When it will happen?
This project will run over the Summer and Autumn of 2025 for 14 weeks.
What's New?
This is a new and targeted expansion of our Parish League that goes beyond our club’s usual training and match schedule. Unlike our regular programmes, this initiative specifically focuses on including children with disabilities, girls, and those from rural or disadvantaged backgrounds—groups not currently well represented in club activity. It also introduces structured youth coach training for local teens, creating new volunteer pathways. These additions are separate from our core offerings and are designed to widen participation and engagement in ways we’ve never formally delivered before.
Levelling the Playing Field
This project will have a lasting impact on our community by opening access to Gaelic games for children who’ve traditionally been excluded—especially girls, young people with disabilities, and those in isolated rural areas. It creates opportunities for new friendships, improved wellbeing, and stronger community connections. By removing barriers such as transport, inexperience, or lack of tailored coaching, we will give every child a fair chance to take part and thrive. The project also supports youth leadership, helping to grow a more inclusive and resilient club culture for the future.
How we’ll spend the money raised
We’re aiming to raise £10,000. Here’s how it will be used:
Community impact
This project strengthens our community by making Gaelic games more accessible to all children, regardless of background, ability, or experience. It promotes inclusion, health, confidence, and belonging. Beyond sport, our facilities are a hub for local groups, events, and youth programmes, and this initiative will bring even more families and young people into that positive environment.
