We will be able to purchase additional training equipment
We aim to purchase equipment and to provide additional training for our coaches.

Tempo Maguires is over 100 years old and serves to provide sporting and cultural activities to the people of the area.

We are heavily involved in our local community and we play a key role in providing a positive outlet for children and young people to play sport and celebrate their culture. Our activities provide improved physical and mental wellbeing for our members and many local residents make use of our facilities to engage in recreational exercise such as walking or running on our community walkway.
These provided a much needed outlet during the various Covid-19 restrictions and will be crucial as we emerge from a very difficult period, especially for the young people in our community. Our ability to raise funds and to provide collective activities for our various youth groups was heavily restricted during Covid-19 restrictions, so we are trying to arrange additional activities and secure additional equipment to cater for the demand that now exists and to make up for lost time. As a result of the pandemic, we lost a number of young members who drifted away from sport and we have a lot of work to do to re-recruit and re-engage them and to attract new participants. This project will go some way to addressing those issues and allowing us to find novel ways of meeting the challenges facing us. It will enable us to get people back together participating in sport and improving their wellbeing at the same time. We have found that due to the length of time that our young people were inactive and not participating in sport, that their flexibility and resistance to injury have both been reduced. We are therefore planning to organise a weekly strength and conditioning session for each underage team to improve their core strength, flexibility and resistance to injury as high as possible. We will bringing in experts to deliver these sessions to our young people and to upskill our own coaches to enable them to deliver these programmes in the long term to ensure the sustainability of this work in the long term.

This project will involve providing additional equipment to enable the club to expand the range of sessions it provides to its members and local residents. As we have recently developed a second pitch, we are stretched for equipment such as balls, poles, bibs and goals. This project will allow us to provide more sessions to our members and to increase the impact that our coaching has on young people. We will also provide additional coaching sessions for our existing coaches and recruit new coaches by providing foundation level courses and mentoring arrangements. We will also offer first aid training and defib training to improve on these areas. Without this funding, these projects will not be able to proceed as our reserves have been heavily deplited as our fixed costs continued during Covid, but our ability to fundraise and generate income was heavily constrained and we are looking to recover from that challenge.
A key part of this project will be on improving the physical and mental wellbeing of our young members through targetted training courses and personal development sessions. We will be investing in equipment to improve resistance and core strength that can be a new focus for all teams in the club.

As a result of the pandemic, we saw reduced numbers of volunteers, players and coaches. Our income and acitivities were both reduced and this project will help to get local people back out involved with our club.
