Aim

We are publishing a book charting the fascinating history of Leicester Animal Aid - our animals, volunteers, staff, Members and supporters.

If you love cats and dogs, our book is your book, and our history is your history.

Our book, Telling More Tails, will chart the fascinating history of Leicester Animal Aid, from humble beginnings in our founder, Dorothea Farndon's, back garden, to the thriving cat and dog rehoming centre it is today.

Have you adopted a cat or dog from L.A.A.? We would love to feature them in our book. Why not contribute to our campaign, celebrate with us and make your pet a star in the process? Even if you got your cat or dog from somewhere else, and you are a supporter, we would still love to include your pet.

We will celebrate the animals and the people who have made our Charity truly special over the years.

Through our fundraiser, we will raise money to contribute to the cost of printing 500 copies (revised to 1000 copies August '25) of Telling More Tails - A History of Leicester Animal Aid, 70th Anniversary Edition. The book will then be sold to raise much-needed funds for the Charity. All funds raised from the book will be used to benefit our current and future cats and dogs.

More information about the difference that your kind donation will make is available here.

Even if you don't currently have a pet but would like to help our animals, you can still donate.

More information about the book is available here.

Ginny the cat and Zeta the dog say thank you for being part of our journey.
