Empowering 'Tech for Good South West' to be a pioneering tech for good social enterprise, committed to addressing societal challenges.
I’m Annie, and we are Tech for Good South West. A passionate, voluntary-run community.
We want the South-West to be a leading area in the UK for tech for good.
My mission is to establish 'Tech for Good South-West' as a pioneering social enterprise in the region, committed to harnessing the transformative power of technology to address pressing societal challenges. From addressing digital poverty, mental health & well-being and environmental impacts, to ethical implications of emerging technologies, accessibility and digital skills.
We need your help.
A Tech for Good South West community will drive more awareness of tech for good, bringing people and organisations together to consider solutions to societal problems and enable our communities to thrive.
I want tech for good to be a core regional narrative, scaling social impact across our tech sector.
I want tech for good for our communities, to be a region focused on reducing digital inequalities.
To amplify our impact, we need to evolve. With a goal of £10,000, we aim to transition from a voluntary group to a robust social enterprise and a recognised legal structure e.g Community Interest Company (CIC).
With these funds, we'll be able to expand our reach, support more projects, and make an even bigger impact.
As a legal entity we will be able to enter into contracts, form partnerships, hire support and access a mix of funding, including grants, donations and trading income through a membership model, with benefits including:
I co-founded Tech for Good South West in 2017, and have been volunteering in this role ever since, building a dynamic community in Bath, Bristol and across the South-West, and co-founding the national Tech for Good Organisers Network.
It is now time to professionalise the network, to attract an initial wave of sponsorship that can support the costs associated with setting up and maintaining the legal entity, ready to re-launch Tech for Good South West and its membership model.
