An urgent message from Liz Rook and Team Lovelight.
A couple of days ago I read the following on a FB page -
"Is there anyone local who can heat my food for my children. I have food which has been given to me but I don’t have any gas or electric to heat it with. I work but I don’t get enough money to look after my three children. Please if you are local and could cook it for us that would be amazing. Cold beans on bread is currently our tea. "
It’s haunted me ever since!
When asked how much she needed she said £10 for gas and £10 for electric. But just £10 for electric would work because she could use the microwave.
Can you help us? We are looking to help families such as this family for the next 4 months until the winter is over. We are wondering whether we can find families who could donate £10 a month for each of the next 4 months.
You can donate a one-off amount, or after your initial donation you can setup a monthly payment to help those in need.
Thank you so much for your continued support of TEAM LOVELIGHT.
More about Team Lovelight
TEAM LOVELIGHT is for ANYONE who has ‘surplus’ who would like to share their resources with people who are struggling. TEAM LOVELIGHT primarily acts as a piece of conduit. Goods, resources and services are donated to Team Lovelight and we sort them into the most appropriate distribution points. We distribute locally, nationally and internationally to individuals, groups and organisations in order to change lives for the better.
Special emphasis is placed on equipping individuals with the resources necessary to change the future of the poorest communities. Social care, health support and education are central to the provision made, the aim being to break recurring cycles of poverty while maintaining the dignity of those served within their culture.
We aim to develop economic stability in communities by working alongside people in need. We provide appropriate clothing, support healthier life styles and give opportunities to learn basic skills and take part in individualised education programmes which enable people to catch up on lost schooling and raise the possibilities of employment.
