We are running the Manchester half marathon to raise money for St Luke’s Cheshire hospice in memory of our Jacob
As many of you may already know, on the 2nd of May this year, we sadly lost our hilarious Jacob following a hard fought battle with a Stage 4 Brain Tumour.
Jacob spent his final 8 weeks in the St Luke’s Cheshire Hospice in Winsford; where they provided an outstanding level of much needed support to not only Jacob but to all of his friends and family during the most difficult time of our lives. The hospice gained a special place in our hearts by allowing Jacob to have countless visitors, providing beds for family members to sleep on every single night, giving us a shoulder to cry on, and most importantly making Jacob smile during the most painful stage of his life. If we could go back in time and ask Jacob why the hospice was special to him, he would probably say it’s because of the full English breakfast he was served every morning.
St Luke’s is a charity run hospice, where nearly 85% of the care provided is funded through donations. According to their website £53.91 would pay for a person to spend a full day in the hospice.
It goes without saying that it would mean the world to us to raise as much money as we can for the Hospice, and we would would massively appreciate any donations possible <3
