Help Team Farnell represent England at the Le Gruyère AOP European Curling Championships 2022 in Östersund, Sweden

Who are we?

Team Farnell are a group of talented and driven women who share a passion for competitive curling and we are determined to achieve success at the highest levels. Curling requires exceptional levels of physical and mental fitness, strategic skills, teamwork and above all dedication and hard work.

We are very excited to announce that we have earned our place as the National English Woman's curling team for the fourth time representing England at the Le Gruyere AOP European Curling Championships 2022.

Curling in England

Often described as 'chess on ice', curling has received nationwide coverage this year following Team GB's exceptional performances at the Winter Olympics in Beijing. It is enormously popular across Scotland (where the sport began), and is accessible to people of all ages and ability levels.

By contrast, curling opportunities for people in England are limited, with only a few rinks offering dedicated curling facilities, and only a couple of ice arenas offering the sport. As ambassadors for the sport, we want to engage with the wider community and help to grow the curling fanbase, so that more people have the opportunity to play and watch this fascinating and complex game.

This fantastic opportunity will allow us to showcase the standard of curling that we strive to achieve and promote the sport in England.

Why are we crowdfunding?

We're supported by a number of fantastic sponsors who have helped us to achieve our training and competitive goals for this year as we prepare for our biggest challenge of the season. 

We hope that by reaching out to our supporters that we can cover our outstanding costs at the European Championships, allowing us to focus all our time and energy into preparation for this significant mental and physical challenge. 

How we’ll spend the money raised

All monies raised will go towards our travel and accommodation costs at the European Championships in Sweden.
