Do you want to join me in making a difference? I'm raising money in aid of Linking Lives UK and every donation will help.

Linking Lives do valuable work to combat loneliness, and work with lonely people of all ages.
The charity aims to reach out to lonely people, and organise social events, provide home visits and outings for lonely people as well as raising awareness nationally for the silent affliction of loneliness. Loneliness generally tends to affect more elderly people, particularly those whose partners have sadly passed away.

Some (shocking) statistics:

There are an estimated 1.8 million lonely people in the UK. Realistically, this number is probably much higher, due to the nature of loneliness.

500, 000 people a year spend Christmas alone.

3.9 million lonely people say that the television is their only companion.

People afflicted with chronic loneliness have a 28% increased risk of death through illness or accident.
