We champion Creative Health for older people living alone or who feel isolated for any reason.
We asked our group of regulars at Tea, Cake & Art, a weekly, free creative social at The Exchange, for three words to describe the sessions, and they did not hold back!
Hundreds of people over 65 who feel isolated for whatever reason - living alone, grieving, with caring responsibilities, anxiety or other barriers to taking part - have been welcomed at Tea, Cake & Art since 2019. They know that doing creative things together helps keep our brain active for longer, that it’s important for our mental wellbeing, for our independence and for feeling part of the wider world.
Tea, Cake & Art is for older people who feel isolated and would benefit from spending time with others, making new friends through art and creativity. We also welcome people with dementia and their carers, but also carers on their own.
To keep the programme running free of charge, we need to raise £3,000 towards the annual cost of more than £15,000. Every donation makes a difference.
Your contribution: £6, £25, £120 or any amount you wish, will go directly towards serving Tea, Cake & Art to those who need it most.
