Aim

We are raising money to repair the Hollybush Eco Wood Pellet Boiler that broke down the week before Christmas

Not the ending to 2025 that we hoped  for!

As the year comes to a close and we look back all the things that Hollybush and our amazing volunteers have achieved this year, our heating system has packed in and we are faced with a substantial cost to repair it.

Like many charities, Hollybush has been facing significant financial challenges this year. At the same time, the services that our centre provides are more vital than ever as the people we support are disproportionately impacted by the rising cost of living.

It is hard to see how we are going to be able to cover this unexpected cost, so we are left with no option other than reaching out and asking for your help. Any donation will make a difference, big or small. If you are unable to make a donation at this time, we would appreciate it if you could share this appeal to help us keep Hollybush running in the New Year.

Your donation to our fundraising total will go towards the costs of repairs to our environmentally friendly pellet boiler (£3,695.21 and counting). Anything above the total will go towards the vital costs that come with running an inclusive and welcoming space like Hollybush.

This year, Hollybush:

  • Hosted 1000 sessions connecting people with nature
  • Worked with nearly 500 volunteers to improve spaces for nature across Leeds, a grand total of nearly 10,000 workdays
  • Connected 3,500 people with the health benefits of activities in nature, including 325 school children
  • Our nature conservation sessions support health and wellbeing; offer employment and skills training; build travel confidence to help individuals access green spaces; offer healthy eating and food growing projects; plant trees and create habitats; support individuals experiencing complex mental health; offer day opportunities for adults with learning disabilities; lead nature walks and so much more.
  • Half of our volunteers report having a disability, and 38% live in some of the most deprived areas in the UK.

Hollybush is home to The Conservation Volunteers in Leeds as well as Tiny Outdoor Explorers; Permaculture Association; Sunshine & Smiles - Leeds Down Syndrome Network; Leeds Permaculture Network, hosts events for many others and has welcomed over 10,000 visitors to our public gardens.

We are so proud of the work that the Hollybush community does. We hate to ask, especially in the lead up to Christmas, but are so grateful for any support you can give.
