Power Up North London is a community business that emerged from the Transition Town movement in 2015 and is run by volunteers who are all qualified professionals in their fields. We are a community benefit society meaning our activities must aim to benefit our community as a whole, not just those who chose to invest in our shares.
Our vision is to contribute to North London boroughs becoming net zero carbon by 2030 underpinned by a resilient, independent and collaborative community of residents harnessing clean energy.
PUNL has a track record of installing rooftop solar in the community and currently has 9 live sites totalling 313kWp. Our sites have cumulatively saved 155 tonnes of carbon equivalent to the energy required to power 227 homes for a year.
This share offer is part of our objective to combat climate change through the installation of local renewable power and heat solutions.
We will use the money raised from this share offer to purchase solar panels for installation at Talacre Community Sports Centre saving an additional 12 tonnes of carbon each year and delivering energy cost savings to the Centre by offering them a discount on their solar energy purchases. Investors will receive 4% interest and will get their capital back at 5% a year.
