We are crowd funding to provide money to help us to continue our work in Schools and Colleges in the Rotherham area.
The Titans are inviting supporters and friends of the Club to offer contributions to help the Titans Community Foundation in their work across schools and the wider community. We want to be able to offer players the chance to work for the TCF, alongside playing in National 2, this season. These contributions will help bridge the shortfall in fundraising created by the Coronavirus Pandemic.
Rotherham has a large BAME community and is an area which has historically suffered with childhood obesity. The projects we run are aimed at helping both these groups by using professional and semi professional rugby players who become role models to the children they interact with. The main aim this year is personal fitness and health plans.
Last season the TCF players provided over 1000 hours of coaching, mentoring and support to over 4000 children in Rotherham. They were Reading Buddies to children struggling with literacy, led Healthy Lifestyle campaigns with children aged from 3-11, as well as teaching over 600 children how to do CPR in partnership with the British Heart Foundation. They ran after school clubs, holiday camps and coached schools, colleges and university teams. They developed and hosted weekly Walking Rugby sessions for adults in Rotherham and Maltby.
All these activities, and the fundraising events such as Comedy Nights, the 50/50 Match Day Raffle, and other future plans all came to a halt in March when the country went into lockdown.
With the end of lockdown finally in sight, but with no cash generating activity possible, we have launched a crowdfunding campaign to allow the #TitansFamily to support the Club during these unprecedented times.
There are a range of rewards and offers available to people who donate, from match day tickets and merchandise all the way up to coaching and match day opportunities with the players and staff.
Aviva Community Fund has provided £1,625 of match funding
