To raise funds for the building of a new concrete multi-use wheeled sports area in Tavistock Meadows.
Taviskate is a volunteer-led CIC working alongside Tavistock Town Council to replace the town’s ageing skatepark with a modern, inclusive wheeled sports facility. The new park will be a vibrant community space where people of all ages and abilities can come together to skate, ride, socialise and stay active.

Tavistock’s existing skatepark is now over 20 years old! With rusting ramps, worn surfaces and an outdated layout, the facility is increasingly difficult to maintain, noisy and no longer meets the needs of today’s riders.
Working with leading skatepark designers Canvas Spaces, we’ve developed a design that will create a dynamic and accessible space for all types of wheeled sports. The result will be a high-quality facility that attracts riders from across the region while remaining rooted in the local community.
The new park will include:
More than just a skatepark, it will be a safe, welcoming place for young people and a valuable addition to Tavistock’s public spaces.

The total cost of delivering Taviskate is £300,000, covering the full design and construction of the skatepark. The project will be delivered by Canvas Spaces, the appointed contractor following a competitive tender process, ensuring high-quality, safe, and long-lasting facilities.
Every pound raised through this Crowdfunder will go directly towards the build cost of the skatepark. Taviskates managment and fundraising is done entirely on a voluntary basis, meaning your support goes straight into creating the facility itself.
We have already secured £100,000 from Tavistock Town Council, demonstrating strong local backing. We are now aiming to raise £50,000 through this Crowdfunder, with support from the community and local businesses.
Reaching this target is a crucial step it will help us unlock additional grant funding from national organisations, as it shows clear evidence of community demand and commitment to the project.
In partnership with Tavistock Youth Café, the new park will be used for a range of inclusive activities and programmes. These initiatives will help create a supportive environment where everyone feels welcome, while tackling rural isolation and encouraging positive activity.
By supporting Taviskate, you’re helping to create a safe, inclusive, and long-lasting space for young people and the wider community—one that will benefit Tavistock for generations to come.

There are four simple ways to help us reach our target, and make this project a reality.
1. Make a pledge. Don’t delay if you’re going to support us because momentum is key to our success!
2. Spread the word. Share our project on your social media pages and tell the world to get behind us! The more people we reach, the more support we will get.
3. Offer rewards. Get involved if you are a local business by donating things we can offer to our supporters.
4. Fundraise for us. If you want to run your own fundraiser – maybe a sponsored activity or similar – use the 'contact project' button at the top of our page to let us know. Setting up your own page only takes a few minutes and you won’t need any bank details. Just a fun idea!
If you've not seen a reward you want today, come back soon, as we will be adding more throughout the length of the campaign.
We will aim to get most rewards sent out as soon as possible. However, the Taviskate Merch, t-shirts and totes will not be printed untill the countdown ends. This is so we print to order and make minimise waste.
