Aim

Talk Together provides online therapeutic support to help children, young people, families and key-workers manage their emotional well-being

Kids Inspire has established the therapeutic project “Talk Together” to support children, young people, families and Key-workers who are struggling with the impact COVID-19 is having on their mental well-being. Support will help service users to build resilience and manage anxiety, depression, fear, conflict and loneliness.

The charity has swiftly adapted services to operate remotely, over the coming months provision will be predominantly delivered via video-call and telephone. In addition to supporting our existing caseload, we will accept new child-centered referrals and referrals from Key-workers. Following initial screening, all cases that fit the project criteria will receive three initial support sessions provide swift access to mental health support.

Many of the children referred consider school their ‘safe space’ and they are now trapped in environments that harbor their fears and anxieties, which thereby intensifies emotional/ behavioural difficulties. The isolation and anxiety caused by the current situation is exacerbating pre-existing mental health issues and contributing toward the emergence of new psychological and emotional problems. For many, the situation is triggering unhealthy patterns.
