To break the silence on men's mental health and suicide within the Lincolnshire hockey family.
by Tonic Health in Lincolnshire, United Kingdom
This initiative is all about creating a safe space and support system for the men in our hockey community—a place where everyone can feel comfortable to share, listen, and support one another.
This project was born out of a deeply personal place, following the tragic loss of friends and teammates within the Lincolnshire hockey community to suicide. We’re determined to make a difference, and with your support, we hope to prevent further heartbreak.
“Breaking the silence” starts here. Whether it’s about mental health, personal struggles, or just “talking stick,” we’re here to listen.
With the support and partnership with Bro Pro UK, we aim to hold Talk Stick sessions at all 8 Lincolnshire hockey clubs. These sessions will be led by David Bruce, an expert on men’s mental health, offering a chance to openly discuss challenges, ask questions, and access vital resources.
A grant application to Shine Lincolnshire Suicide Prevention Strategy Grant has been approved to provide us with some funds to officially launch Talk Stick across all hockey clubs in Lincolnshire!
Our goal is simple: to foster environments where men can talk openly—about the good, the bad, and everything in between for the hockey fellas of our county.
This is just the start of our journey with Talk Stick, and we’re not stopping here. Let’s do this for the fellas of hockey!

It may not seem a lot, but one follow or like can make all the difference, so please share and make this little project be heard and spoken about
