Aim

We urgently need your help to transform Shaftesbury Talbot Manor into an accessible home for people with complex health needs.

For over 40 years, Shaftesbury Talbot Manor has provided residential care for people with disabilities in the Dorset area. Today, this historic building is being transformed, but we urgently need your help to turn it into a home.

Over the last six months, desperately needed renovation work has created a modern, accessible building that is fit for purpose today and for years to come. New wiring has been installed, doors have been widened for wheelchair access, ensuite wet rooms have been added to the bedrooms, rooms are being plastered and non-slip flooring laid.

Right now, it’s still just a building.
But you can help transform it into a home.

Ten people with complex health needs are waiting to move in and they deserve more than a functional space. They deserve a home that allows them to live more independently, to socialise with friends and learn new daily living skills.

We urgently need to raise £30,000 to transform Talbot Manor into a home. Please don't let people with complex health needs wait any longer.

Your gift can:

  • Increase independence and confidence by providing assistive kitchen devices for people with limited dexterity to prepare their own food.
£50 could go towards a kettle tipper which could enable a resident to make their own hot drink safely.
  • Transform clinical wet rooms into modern comfortable environments that feel more like home. By making these spaces accessible people can manage their own personal care with more independence and privacy.
£10 could go towards a handrail providing support and safety for someone when they wash.
  • Unlock communication and make connections by providing cutting edge assistive technology.
A gift of £100 could go towards devices that help residents express themselves, communicate, make friends and make their own choices.

At Shaftesbury, we believe everyone should have the opportunity to live as independently as possible, making their own choices and doing the things that matter most to them. Shaftesbury Talbot Manor can do this. A donation from you can help make it possible. Thank you for your support.
