The global pandemic has hit the whole world in a way nobody could ever have imagined.
It was going so well....
Pocklington Rugby Club's season was approaching the end of March 2020. The 1st Team were in the process of hitting top form, the crowds at the Club were growing and momentum was with the Club in every way from the Mini & Juniors through all of the teams to the magnificent supporters with "Take me home, Percy Road" ringing in everyone's ears....
Preparations were finalised for what was to be a fantastic Sevens on Good Friday, especially after recent years of huge sociable crowds helping the Club to develop into the a community hub it is today.

Then suddenly on 23rd March 2020 life as we know it was shut down.
Boom. No more rugby, no more sociable afternoons. The whole Club closes....
***NO INCOME FOR THE CLUB***

Help for the Community
The Club, being a part of the community through its charitable arm "Pocklington Rugby in the Community" facilitated the use of the Club as a hub to send out food parcels to those locked down and in need of support in conjunction with the East Riding of Yorkshire Council, the Covid 19 Groups and The Peoples Pantry. They have done a fantastic job using Pocklington R.U.F.C.'s facilities, putting the Club firmly on the map in terms of helping others. The Club has shown it is not just there for rugby!
The Immediate Future
The Club have still to maintain the wonderful facilities they have developed over recent years for the whole community.
Not just for rugby, Pocklington Runners and the Pocklington Ladies Hockey Club use the Club's facilities on a regular basis.

This is as well as a venue for various other groups and future further development by the charitable arm to make a permanent base for the Peoples Pantry.
The Club is also nearing completion of their wonderful facilities at Kilnwick which has provided a pavilion which contains changing rooms, showers, first aid room, kitchen and small social area. A superb building which will enhance the rugby experience at Pocklington, whether you are 7 or 70.
What are we fundraising for ?
All of the facilities, which are for the use by the community require to be fully paid for and maintained. This project is to raise funds in order for the Club to keep the momentum going to provide a centre to help everyone in the community. It is not purely a rugby club.
The Club, its charitable arm and associated users of the Club help in several ways to make peoples lives better, no matter what their background may be. We welcome all, treat everyone the same, with a smile and to have respect for each other. This ethos goes towards helping peoples well-being, to assist in their physical and mental health.
Please help our cause

With no rugby since March we have lost our whole income from the Sevens, end of season matches, Club Dinners and bookings, yet still have the maintenance of our Club and lovely pitches. This has to be done in preparation of the new season starting. We are asking for your support to get us back to that kick off time.
