The more money that is raised the more Tackling Minds can invest in a more reliable van.
Tackling Minds needs a reliable van to transport fishing equipment so our volunteers can help people with a range of mental health issues.

The more money that is raised the more Tackling Minds can invest in a more reliable van.
Formed in early 2020, Tackling Minds has quickly become established as a trusted provider of angling events within the UK and offers support to people from all walks of life that are struggling with a range of issues. Be it Mental Health, Social Deprivation, Addiction, Long Term Health Conditions, Disabilities, Family Turmoil
What do our Volunteers do?
Our objectives:
To incorporate a range of fishing methods that encourage activity amongst the inactive, those recovering from illness and older age groups who may not participate in other sports.
To incorporate the therapeutic engagement that angling brings with nature and the great outdoors. In turn, this brings people into contact with ‘blue-green spaces’, and consequently helps maintain positive mental health, provides stress relief and can support programmes for people experiencing mental illness.
To provide a rich social world that facilitates the relationship building, connection and participation in social life essential to securing wellbeing and active ageing by bringing people together in a safe environment.
Tackling Minds is an entirely voluntary non-profit organisation that is funded by public donations and the support of the wider angling trade.
Our van has been causing us some major issues recently. We have been told by our mechanic, Matt, who kindly donated the van to us over 18 months ago, that it's only a matter of time before it'll be off the road for good. Although the van has literally been a life saver, it's been one issue after another and as the van is 20+ years old parts are extremely hard to come by.
Tackling Minds relies on a van to transport our fishing equipment to and from different venues, and as you can imagine we'd be absolutely lost without one. Our sessions would come to a stop and we would no longer be able to help the dozens of people we help each week.
As I'm sure you're aware, Tackling Minds is in the business of helping people and we've never asked for anything in return. Only this time we are desperately seeking your help and support to enable our volunteers to continue the valuable work in which they do.
***Angling Direct have kindly said that they will match fund anything we raise up to the amount of £6000 ***
