We’re raising money to make the pilot of our returning television series, Sexquisite (working title).
After gaining interest from major production companies who were excited by the project but didn’t quite understand its ethos or values, we’ve decided to do what we do best: make it ourselves.
Sexquisite is a returning drama series set at a Sex Worker Cabaret ‘Sexquisite’, (based on a real national sex worker cabaret) following the intersecting lives of five sex workers.
Created from lived experience, all sex worker characters will be played by real sex workers, most of them Sexquisite performers mixed with star casting.
The show is multimedia, blending scripted drama with performances from Sexquisite, an award-winning sex worker cabaret with residencies across the UK and the founder of UK Sex Worker Pride.
Sexquisite speaks directly to a post‑lockdown Britain where housing is unaffordable, wages don’t cover the basics, and more people than ever are turning to sex work out of financial necessity.
We are living through a cultural reckoning in which high‑profile abusers from Epstein to Weinstein to Peter Mandleson and countless “respectable” public figures have shown how deeply institutions protect powerful men while discrediting the people they exploit.
Sex workers, migrants, queer women and trans women are often the first targets, the easiest to dismiss, and the last to be believed.
At the same time, sex‑worker aesthetics dominate mainstream media, while actual sex workers remain shut out of writers’ rooms, casting, and creative leadership. There is a widening gap between those who live these stories and those who are given access to tell them.
This show offers the rare chance to let the women who survive it, joke about it, fight it and understand it finally tell it themselves.
