At Swinton Band we have the privilege of owning our own band room, however that comes with a cost! We have recently had a building survey done and as a result of this we need to start raising money to be able to begin the work on our roof! We have an approximate cost of 30K for this, which for a village band is obviously a MASSIVE amount to fund ourselves.
Our Beginners, Training Band and Helpers
We are proud of being a local community band with no joining fees or costs to loan instruments or uniform. We deliver free lessons on a weekly basis as we believe that music should be accessible to all.
Our Senior Band
We are absolutely over the moon to this year be awarded with the Kings Award for Voluntary Service for all the hard work our volunteers and members put in to make us a vibrant and successful organisation.
Here is our main band playing on a very sunny afternoon in Filey.

At Swinton we have a main band that practices twice a week, and then volunteers from the main band provide their time for free to assist with our beginner and training band once a week. We also facilitate workshops in local schools with the assistance of Brass Band England. This again is all provided free to the local community.
Here is a rehearsal of all our groups together playing Red Alert

As a band we enjoy delivering concerts to the local community we play many paid jobs throughout the year, however we like to give back to the local community in our area and are holding a FREE Christmas concert!
