Who are we?
We are a competitive and family orientated swimming club. Catering for all stages of Swim England's learn to swim programme and beyond. Our members range for age 4 to in their 70's.
Why are we crowdfunding?
We are a local swimming club that was established in 1911, we are struggling with the upkeep of our equipment some of which is over twenty years old. We need to replace our diving blocks and backboards to enable the safety of our swimmers and also other club swimmers. Some of the diving blocks have started to break, so we are trying to raise money to replace 5 backboards and 5 diving blocks.
Raising this money will enable our club to carry on with teaching, coaching and competing in galas for the members that wish to do so. It allows a community to come together and form friendships that last a lifetime. We are inclusive and many of our members would never have met. Children from many different backgrounds all coming together to create a wonderful swimming community.
How we’ll spend the money raised
We intend to replace all 5 diving blocks and back boards. If there is any additional funding we will use this to buy kit for the swimming club team galas. Also pay for additional training needs for our coaches and teachers who are all unpaid volunteer's.
Community impact
We are based at the local swimming pool, so any improvements would benefit the wider community and we feel that this is important.
