Swim for Steve - Tonbridge SC fundraiser

As a non-profit community club, Tonbridge Swimming Club relies on volunteers who give up many hours of their time to help us operate within the community.

One of our long time members is Steve Henbest. Sadly, Steve suffered a serious stroke at the end of March this year.

We are holding a special fundraising “Swim for Steve” relay event on Friday 7 October involving all club members.

Steve is one of our long term volunteer coaches, a team manager, official, committee member and an all-round big supporter of all things Tonbridge SC.  He has been a huge part of Tonbridge SC club for many years.

His kindness, the many hours he has given up coaching swimmers and his passion for swimming, as well as the many hours he has given up behind the scenes to help the swimmers and the club itself have never gone unnoticed by the swimmers.  He is especially good at noticing when someone is feeling down or struggling and always provides a friendly ear to listen to swimmers and helps them whenever he can.

Over the past few months Steve has been receiving residential care and intensive rehabilitation at the Hothfield Brain Injury Rehabilitation and Neurological Care Centre.

Fundraising proceeds:

The entire proceeds of this fundraising will be given to the family to put towards the ongoing cost of Steve’s continued residential care and rehabilitation.  This is our chance to give back a little financial help to someone who has given so much to the club and to the charities that have been supporting him.

Please donate whatever you can towards this very worthy cause.

We all know how determined Steve is and we can be assured that he is determined to make steady progress with his ongoing recovery.

We wish him well on his continued recovery journey.
