I aim to swim in the open sea every evening over April to raise funds for The Jigsaw Project, a local Autism group
My name is Neill Doherty and i am the parent of two gorgeous little girls on the Autistic spectrum . Autism is a social and communication difficulty , these kids can find it hard to make friends , prefer their own company struggle daily with anxiety and sensory issues making simple trips out or attending school impossible , with the help of groups like The Jigsaw Project , our family was introduced to parents like ourselves who are trying to do the best for their kids , this group has supported us and helped us face many challenges as a family , they arrange activities both for the parents and kids , encourage these kids to be the best they can be and more importantly there is no judgement , everyone is made feel welcome , we all have the same aim , to make life easier for the kids , to get them out of their comfort zones , work on their strengths and encourage them to try new things and be the best they can be . With the help of funding we want to enable The Jigsaw Project to continue their good work , to allow them to educate parents , extended family members and the community around us while providing activities and courses for all families with a child on the Autistic spectrum . I will be swimming in the sea every evening over the month of April ( Autism acceptance month ) to raise funds ,all donations are gratefully accepted and will go directly to The Jigsaw Project for the kids
