St Werburghs City Farm, set in the heart of inner city Bristol, has been working with our community for over 40 years. We offer opportunities for school children, young people, adults with learning disabilities and people facing all kinds of disadvantage. We aim to build resilience, reduce isolation and strengthen confidence, skills and community.
Throughout the pandemic, we have continued offering vital support to our community.

Prior to Covid, we proudly generated 50% of our annual running costs through events, site hire, green weddings, school / tailored visits, placement fees and produce sales. However, this trading income has not yet returned to its pre-pandemic levels, whilst our running costs have significantly increased. We have medium to long-term income generation strategies that kick in from April 2023, but we need your help to raise £40,000 to ensure that we can offer consistent and quality services to those most in need this autumn and winter. This money will help us to cover the cost of staffing, activity resources and overheads until our trading income recovers.

As we come out of the pandemic, our services are more in demand than ever before. Our services allow our participants a space to breathe, relax and connect with nature, themselves and each other. There is increasing evidence about the positive impact nature has for depression and anxiety, as well as improving sleep and reducing stress, increasing happiness and reducing negative emotions. We know our services have a positive impact through quotes from our participants, such as:
“When he started cooking his face lit up. He's like a different person when he comes here. His teachers are lining up to come and see how different he is when he's in the kitchen.” - Teacher
"It has been unbelievably beneficial to my health and wellbeing and my recovery from bereavement. I feel very lucky to have found the farm and to have been welcomed to sessions here." - Volunteer
Over 60,000 Bristol families enjoy the Farm’s sites every year, and more than 3,000 people are supported by the dedicated staff. Please help #YourFarm today by donating to this urgent crowdfunding campaign today. Thank you!
