Swanspool Pavilion & Gardens, gifted in 1919 will be restored by Wellingborough Town Council as a heritage space for inclusive community use
Wellingborough Town Council is seeking the restoration of Swanspool Pavilion, an important historic and cultural landmark gifted to the town in 1919 by local philanthropist F.C. Chamberlain.
Our vision is to revive this cherished site as a space for inclusive community use, heritage appreciation, and public enjoyment. The Pavilion, a fine example of 1929 Art Deco architecture, will be refurbished with authentic features, new flooring, lighting, and modernised facilities. We will restore damaged elements and enhance security, ensuring the site is safe, sustainable, and welcoming for all.
The money we raise will fund these essential works and support energy-efficient upgrades. Beyond restoration, our goal is to celebrate the Pavilion as a living heritage hub, honouring the history while creating a vibrant, accessible space for future generations.
This project is about more than preservation; it is about community pride, cultural celebration, and safeguarding a green sanctuary at the heart of Wellingborough.
