Supporting families with newborns

Aim: Help us promote safe babywearing and reusable nappies. Improving maternal mental health and support in those early days with a newborn

Our project, Liverpool Cloth Nappy Library, has partnered with Mama Sling to provide high-quality, practical support to families with new babies. This crowdfunder will help us to:

• Give free stretchy sling hire and discounted newborn nappy kit hire to families with newborns in and around Liverpool 
• Provide workshops for families to learn how to carry their newborns safely 
• Deliver baby wearing training in children's centres and community settings, so more babies are carried safely
• Produce an information leaflet for health visitors to give to families with basic safety tips

About Sustainable Starts CIC

Sustainable Starts CIC supports families in the Liverpool City Region to move towards sustainable living, reducing their costs, stress and waste. We provide guilt-free, joyful ways to make sustainability an easy choice.

We do this through:

• Liverpool Cloth Nappy Library- hiring affordable kits of reusable nappies 
• Toy Library- reducing costs and waste for families
• Clothes Swaps- where families help one another out by swapping their outgrown kids' clothes for the next size up
• Clothes circle- an affordable capsule wardrobe that grows with your baby
• Party kit- helping kids' parties be more sustainable, reducing waste
• Events and workshops- supporting the whole family to live sustainably together

About Mama Sling

Mama Sling has helped thousands of babies across Liverpool, Sefton and Halton be carried safely and snugly by their grown-ups for the past ten years. Hosting library meet-ups, workshops and sling hire the library has been an often recommended source of support for families.
