Aim

I'd like to raise funds to sustainably and ethically produce my Spring Summer 2020 Collection for sale online and in Pop-Up shops.

***Crowd Fund Update***

Due to the current situation I have decided to lower my crowdfunding target to £5,000. I cannot express how much I appreciate the generosity everyone has already shown and I do not think it’s fair to be pushing for further donations when people are losing jobs and their income is at risk. All the rewards are still available so if you wish to purchase one then you are more than welcome to. I hope everyone is staying safe and taking care of each other in these difficult times.

NEW REWARD!!

For the final week of my crowd fund I have added a new reward! A4, A3 and A2 Giclee art prints are now available with an initial or initials of your choice. Perfect for a christening gift, bedroom artwork, a wedding or anniversary gift. You can have whatever text you like so just let me know via the Contact Project tab once you have purchased.

ABOUT ME

I started my self-named brand, Emily Jane Taylor, in 2018, with the aim of creating sustainable and ethically produced clothing for a customer looking for something unique. Having worked in the fashion industry for 6 years designing for a wide range of high street customers, I wanted to design garments that aren't trend-driven but instead focus on timeless design, high quality make and local, sustainable production.

DESIGN PROCESS

The garments I create are designed to conjure a sense of dreamy opulence with a modern twist whilst also being comfortable and easy to wear. The Daydreamer collection is my third collection and draws influence from Japanese kimonos, English country gardens, 70's glamour and deco fashion illustrations.

I design all of the prints myself using a combination of sketching, watercolour, felt-tip and digital manipulation. All of the prints are then digitally printed to ensure they maintain their hand-drawn feel and the colours are bright and vibrant. Digital printing is a more environmentally friendly form of printing as it uses less than 20% of the water than traditional rotary screen printing uses and significantly less dyes and inks.

THE GARMENTS

I use high quality fabrics such as silk and sustainable bamboo silk printed with my own illustrations. These are printed in the UK and all of the garments are made in London or Wales to ensure that workers are paid a fair wage and that CO2 emissions are low. I am completely committed to producing as sustainably and ethically as possible but ensuring this does come at a cost, so this funding would really help me achieve my goal of running an ethical fashion brand.

WHAT I WOULD DO WITH THE FUNDS

Up until this point I have been completely self-funded and have produced very small runs of each garment; with any money the brand makes being invested back into the production of new samples, marketing, pop-up shops etc. My latest collection Daydreamer (sneak peaks above!) is ready to go into production and I would use the funds to make limited runs of these garments. So far, I have been selling online and in pop-up shops in Kensington, Marylebone and Notting Hill. Customer reactions have been great and the collection has had some strong interest from boutiques but I need funding to be able to commit to these opportunities.

If I were lucky enough to go over my target, any extra money would be used for the development of my fourth collection and towards marketing and press.

REWARDS!

I have a range of awards on offer from printed silk scrunchies and t-shirts to 20% off Emily Jane Taylor garments!

Limited edition Drunk Skunk or Daisy Meadow prints are available in either A4, A3 or A2 sizes. These come unframed but I am happy to arrange framing for an extra cost. Let me know via the Contact Project tab.

DRUNK SKUNK TEES

Everyone's favourite little critter is now available in extra sizes, ranging from XS - XL.

UNIQUE ILLUSTRATION

If you are looking for a birthday, anniversary or wedding gift or maybe just something to brighten up your hallway, I will produce a unique illustration based around flowers and / or words of your choice.

20% OFF GARMENTS

I am offering 20% off across items from my online store (apart from the tees as these are already reduced for the crowdfund!). The shirts are available from the rewards tab. If you would like a dress from the daydreamer collection, please let me know via the Contact Project Tab.

Please note that most of the rewards options will have a 3 - 4 week lead time but if they can be processed any sooner I'll be sure to let you know. They will be worth the wait!

If you choose an original illustration as your reward, I will be in touch to discuss further with you.
