Bolster our resilience and ensure we continue to provide creative ways for us all to connect and express ourselves.

Luca Silvestrini's Protein is an award-winning dance theatre company based in Woolwich, celebrating the transformative power of connecting people and everyday life through dance. We are nationally recognised for our role in challenging what dance can be and most importantly, what it can do for others.

It's more than just dance.

In January 2023, we won the prestigious Stage Award for Community Project of the Year for our performance project There and Here, with refugees and asylum seekers.

This has renewed our sense of urgency to demonstrate the life-changing impact our programmes bring to those living with social disadvantage, enhancing the voices of the displaced and disengaged.

As a charity, our entirely free and accessible community work relies on the generous support of our external funders. In April 2023 we will lose our core funding from Arts Council England for the first time since 2012. We are now faced with significant change, threatening the future of our ongoing commitment to providing creative ways for us all to connect and express ourselves.

Reaching our target of £10,000 will enable us to move forward with confidence, building on our celebrated track record and deepening our community engagement.

We need your help to ensure that this vital work isn't lost.

YOUR SUPPORT WILL ENABLE US TO:

• Adapt high-quality, life-affirming dance productions, to reach audiences where they're at, including care homes, hospitals, alternative provision schools and refugee centres;
• Empower people who are disengaged or displaced to gain confidence and self-worth;
• Bring diverse communities together to share cultural heritage and learn new skills;
• Ensure the stories and lived experiences of those who have been historically less visible are heard and valued;
• Create a safe space for vulnerable and isolated communities who would not otherwise have an opportunity to engage in creativity;
• Reach 20,000+ people live and 100,000+ online annually, with a lasting impact

We know giving financial support is not always possible at different stages of our lives, which is why we're also calling on you to help us SPREAD THE WORD about Protein's transformative impact.

Please share our campaign so we can reach as far as possible and safeguard the vital work we deliver for those most in need. 

• £11 will provide breakfast and a hot freshly prepared lunch for 1 participant for 1 day of a project
• £50 will cover the cost of travel to a project for 1 participant for 1 week
• £165 will provide breakfast and hot freshly prepared lunch for 1 participant for a whole project
• £200 will provide performance costumes for 10 participants, which they keep following a project
• £1500 will cover the hire of studio space for one week
