Sustain Film Festival

Aim: Launch the first annual edition of Sustain Film Festival, a new festival celebrating creativity, sustainability and storytelling.

What is Sustain Film Festival?

Sustain is a new film festival based in Guildford. A vibrant cathedral town surrounded by wildlife, it is an idyllic place for our festival to grow, showcasing stories of sustainability in our climate, health, relationships and selves - for the good of the planet and its inhabitants.

What have we done so far?

We have built a 180-strong catalogue films from more than 35 countries and territories spanning 6 continents; we are as grateful as we are excited to be exhibiting so many powerful stories, by creatives from all manner of cultural and artistic backgrounds. Throughout the past year we've held numerous 'build-up' screenings; these have wound down as we approach our first major festival edition August 29th-31st!

How will my donation be used?

Below is a breakdown of how we plan to spend donations, and examples of how donations of all sizes help us! <3
Any donations you make on/over the rewards thresholds will receive them digitally by email

£5 will help support our free attendance for under-12s

£15 will help cover a disadvantaged filmmaker's festival fee

£25 will help support a volunteer for a full festival day

£50 will help cover an attending filmmaker's travel costs for their pane

£80 will help cover rental equipment costs

£100 will help fund festival posters across the town

£125 will help cover a screening room booking for half a day

£250 will help cover a screening room for a whole day

How do you plan to split the funding? 

£3000 - Venues: with multiple venues of various sizes across Guildford, we have a great variety of pubs, churches, community spaces and cinemas to choose from.

£2000 - Volunteers & Hospitality: our venues and events are supported by keen individuals locally to internationally.

£1000 - Workshops & Talks: with such inquisitive and incredible talent concentrated in one town for one weekend, we'd be silly not to learn something from one another!

£1000 - Marketing and Outreach: we believe in the power of this festival's message to change lives, and we want to advertise ourselves to all those in surrounding areas who can benefit from the festival experience.

£1000 - Film Licensing and Fees: this covers both waivers for short and independent films we receive as well as features we seek from distributors.

£2000 - Our Future: Sustain holds events all year round, and we plan to have another awesome year after our first edition!

£300 - Crowdfunder website transaction fees
