About the project
Inspired by the spirit and ambition of the Suspended Coffee movement we believe that everyone has the right to engage with cultural opportunities, regardless of their circumstances. As an associate company with The Scottish Mental Health Arts and Film Festival we are using our spring tour of Status Anxiety and Thinking In The First Person to launch our suspended ticket campaign in the hope of ensuring our work and the work of others is available to people from all walks of life, potentially inspiring other theatre companies and organisations to do the same.
The benefits of attending live performance are immeasurable but through purchasing a suspended ticket you are offering someone much more than a dance experience. It can provide a necessary means of escapism, access to a new community and give people a new method of supporting their mental health and well being.
Cultured Mongrel are a dance theatre company working as a social enterprise, dedicated to finding innovative methods of building a fairer and better world. If we manage to secure 100 tickets, Suspended Tickets will be made available to those who need them via our website and our wider network, no questions asked.
Should this campaign be successful the Suspended Tickets campaign will run throughout the year offering individuals from both rural and urban areas the opportunity to connect with performance work and workshops. Through forming a central hub that can be promoted nationwide we hope we will be able to support small scale venues to be involved in the movement too.Cultured Mongrel is touring and growing with the support of:
