Founded and led by survivors of all types of abuse and trauma, our mission is to improve the response to abuse through peer support and activism.
Impact of abuse
Abuse and trauma, whether experienced as a child or as an adult, has a big impact. It can take years to recover, and be a long hard road. There's not enough support out there, and what there is, often isn't what survivors really need. Reporting abuse is really hard and often meets denial, disbelief or further institutional abuse. We aim to change that.
Peer Support
We run an online peer support group, and hold regular gatherings and sharing events for survivors and their supporters. Sharing what helps us on our healing journeys and supporting each other through the really tough times.
Activism
We also undertake research, training and campaigns about how to respond to abuse and develop new services with survivors. We work with professionals and policy makers to change things on the ground.
Don't just take our word for it...
“A space was made for me. Words cannot express the value of the groups.”
“Excellent training sessions and a feeling that there is a great need for even more”.
For more information about what we do, including our Survivor's Charter, developed with Kings College London, please visit our website.
We use our bursary fund to cover the cost of attending events, for survivors who are on low incomes or unwaged. We also offer help with travel costs. A donation to our fund changes lives and is massively appreciated by everyone involved.
