Two survivors. Two histories. One call for peace. Help us finish this film about Stephen Kapos and Antoine Raffoul before time runs out.
We’re Andrea Kapos and Jacquie Beaumont - award-winning independent filmmakers and co-founders of creative production company Think Make Create. Together, we’ve spent over 25 years telling powerful human stories for major brands and broadcasters.
But SURVIVORS is the most personal and urgent film we’ve ever made.
This documentary tells the story of Stephen Kapos (Andrea’s father) and Antoine Raffoul. Two men who represent the last generation on either side of the divide: a Jewish Holocaust survivor and a Palestinian survivor of the Nakba. But what these men have in common is far greater than what separates them – they are both fathers, both architects and both child survivors of two of the greatest atrocities in history. They are also both activists. What happens when these two men meet for the first time?
At 88 years old, Stephen Kapos has become an unlikely icon of the current anti-war movement. A Hungarian Holocaust survivor, Stephen's activism today resonates with a new generation. His message is one of humanity, empathy and moral courage. In an era of digital protest he has become an unlikely influencer, capturing the hearts of young demonstrators, artists and global figures alike, embodying a moral clarity that transcends generations and cultures.
Antoine Raffoul, a Palestinian-born architect, carries with him the legacy of exile. Born in Nazareth, Palestine in 1941, Antoine was expelled with his six siblings and parents from their home in Haifa during the Nakba of 1948 - when over 700,000 Palestinians were uprooted by the sweeping violence of the time. They were never allowed to return. Antoine still holds the key and deeds to his destroyed family home.

Through the personal testimony and artefacts of these two men, this films traces two stories shaped by upheaval, loss and the search for justice. As they recount their childhoods and their life stories, the film finds striking parallels between two seemingly disparate histories. The emotional climax comes when Stephen and Antoine finally meet - two survivors finding unexpected common ground through shared memory, reflection and a lifetime commitment to justice.
Our feature documentary, Survivors, tells their extraordinary, parallel stories and reveals why their voices matter more now than ever. They are among the last living eyewitnesses to two of the 20th century's most defining - and divisive - traumas. But this film isn’t just about the past, it’s a lens on the present and a call for humanity, in a polarised world.
We’re asking for your support to help us bring this film to life before it’s too late. Their voices matter and with your help, we can honour them.

The Impact
Survivors isn’t just a film - it’s a living document of history. It captures something irreplaceable: the lived experience of two men who have endured profound historical trauma and who still believe in peace and shared humanity.
By supporting this film, you're helping to preserve voices that will soon be lost. You’re helping show that empathy is possible, even between communities often seen as divided. You're helping tell a story that the world desperately needs to hear.
We believe this film can open hearts, challenge narratives and create space for dialogue.
Our team has delivered powerful films for over a decade - but Survivors is our first fully independent feature. With your help, it can also be our most meaningful.
Our main challenge is time: our contributors are elderly and we must move fast to capture their stories while we still can.
Your support allows us to do this work now - before it's too late.
Other Ways You Can Help
We understand not everyone can donate but you can still make a big difference by sharing our campaign with friends, family and on social media. Your help will make all the difference.
