Due to the serious impact that Covid-19 has had on local businesses, Shire Sounds has lost almost all of its advertisers. This means that our income has been dramatically reduced and we are now unable to afford to continue operating Kettering's not-for-profit community radio station.
On October 1st, our rent payment is due. Without your support, we will not be able to afford this payment and so will lose our studio. This will mean that Shire Sounds will no longer be able to operate and Kettering will lose its not-for-profit community radio station - one which provides information and entertainment dedicated to Kettering and creates media opportunities for the people of Kettering which previously did not exist.
Since the youth-led team launched the radio station in July 2019, Shire Sounds has become a recognised name in the local community and its on-air output has regularly been commended. One of the highlights of our journey so far has been hosting the Kettering Christmas Light Switch On (alongside Will Mellor).
By supporting Shire Sounds, you'll be ensuring the last 18 months of work by young people from Kettering does not go to waste. We will be able to continue broadcasting and continue giving back to the community. Every penny raised will go to the daily running of the station - we are a 100% not-for-profit organisation.
Thank you for your generosity and support during these unprecedented times - we are extremely grateful.
