Support LGBTQIA+ Young People with Curious Arts

Aim

Help Curious Arts provide warm, inclusive spaces to empower LGBTQIA+ young people, where they can share food, be creative and make friends.

Startled by the shocking loneliness statistics of young LGBTQIA+ people across the North East and our growing awareness of the number of LGBTQIA+ young people isolated in un-supportive homes throughout the pandemic, in 2021 Curious Arts started our youth groups.

To combat these statistics and provide LGBTQIA+ young people with warm, safe spaces, opportunities to develop their creative skills and meet friends who share and overcome the challenges they face. 

Curious Arts currently runs regular youth groups in Newcastle, Gateshead and Middlesbrough. Empowering young people to learn new skills, work with professional artists and increase their confidence, over food, in a warm, safe environment. 

As a small charity and in the current cost-of-living crisis, where costs continue to rise, your support through our Crowdfunder is vital in helping Curious Arts to continue running our youth groups whilst we await the result of our fundraising efforts.

A project which one parent described as "a lifeline" for their child, your support truly makes a difference to the inspiring LGBTQIA+ young people we work with. But don't just take our word for it...

In our current political and social climate, we believe Curious Arts gives crucial support to LGBTQIA+ young people, in a not always accepting world. 

All donations received go towards the coordination and delivery of our sessions, including hiring warm, accessible spaces, providing food and snacks, purchasing arts materials, artist fees and appropriate access support.
