To raise funds to pay for staff wages and volunteers expenses to deliver quality service for the community aftermaths of COVID-19 Pandemic
FCSS exists to provide Advocacy, Advice, information, guidance and support for individuals and families to access health, social care, housing options, employment, further education, vocational/ training, welfare benefits, Work, Consumer, Family, and support for disabled people; particularly, those with long term conditions, such as mental health complications and learning disabilities. We offer additional support for women from Black, Asian and minority ethnic communities (BAME) and adults who require care and support needs and experiencing or are at risk of abuse or neglect etc.
We focus on promoting Equality, Diversity and Inclusion through Advocacy and empowerment for and behalf of individuals and families suffering or likely to be at risk of suffering discrimination in our community especially on the grounds of race, age, disability, gender or sexual orientation e.g. LGTBQIA2S+. We aim to increase the confidence of individuals and families by empowering them.
The project activities support individuals and families faced with disproportionate challenges and difficulties especially aftermath of COV-19 pandemic. FCSS Provide advice, information and guidance and practical support for disadvantaged individuals, families, vulnerable adults living with severe mental health problems and supports their carers.
NOTE: The project is Service User-led (SUL) and Community Interest-led (CIL) initiative designed to support disadvantaged individuals and families e.g families from BAME communities to access the above service.
FCSS works in partnership with Universities and Colleges to provide Social Care and Social Work placement for students. This provide students with first-hand practical and work experience of their programme leading to full time employment.
FCSS also works in partnership with the DWP to offer job placements for young people age 16-24 years old who are at risk of long-term unemployment via kickstart scheme.
FCSS also works in partnerships with other local charities such as In-Kind-Direct and Fareshare GO Charity to support the community. We direct access to surplus food from local supermarkets, including Tesco, ASDA and Waitrose & Partners to the needy individuals and families.
FCSS also works in partnerships with other local vocational training organisations to provide placement for apprenticeship to provide alternative Education for young people age 16-25 years old who are at risk of long-term unemployment etc.
