Supporting PTP and Beckenham Place Park Lake

Aim

to Support PTP Coaching, who take care of the lake and swimmers at Beckenham Place Park Lake during the Covid-19 Epidemic

Like many people in the UK, I have, over the past few years become increasingly captivated by outdoor swimming. When the lake at Beckenham Place Park was opened, I was so thrilled to have it on my doorstep.

Since opening, our community has grown and The Beckenham Bobbers and the lake have become a key part of many weekends.

Currently though, due to social-distancing restrictions in place as a result of the Covid 19 epidemic, many people (myself included) are choosing not to swim.

PTP (Tom, Pia and the team at the lake) have been instrumental in facilitating our wild swimming needs over the last few months and I’d hate for them to find themselves in a difficult financial position as less people swim, or they have to close, as a result of the epidemic.

With that in mind, I’m setting up this Crowdfunder to support PTP over the coming months of uncertainty and suggest that anyone who uses the lake on a regular basis on a Pay As You Go basis donates what they might spend on your weekly swim.

Our lake is a glorious facility that we are lucky to have and PTP have put a lot of heart into running it over the last few months. It would be wonderful if we could band together for them at what is undeniably a tricky time.

JUST TO CLARIFY: The vast majority of the £££ raised through this Crowdfunder will go to PTP - I just need to chat to them about how much they need from us. Anything left over (if there is anything, which there may not be) will go towards Beckenham Bobbers group that Rachel Molina is setting up - but this will only be anything PTP don't need.
