Supporting The Welcome Centre to remain a beacon of hope, ensuring no one in our community faces a food crisis alone.

More Than Just a Food Bank: Comprehensive Support for Our Community
At The Welcome Centre, providing food and essential items is just one aspect of the services we offer to people in crisis. Our approach goes beyond immediate relief. We’re committed to helping individuals regain their independence through a range of advice, guidance, and support services, ensuring that no one faces a crisis alone.
Our Advice, Guidance, and Support (AGS) service is a vital part of our food bank.
Our team are here to offer trauma-informed, person-centred care. Creating a safe, non-judgmental environment for those who need us most is at the heart of everything we do. Building trust is key to offering the support people need to overcome challenges and move forward.
Our Services Include:
Income maximisation support including benefit checks and budgeting support
Emotional and wellbeing support
Referrals to specialist agencies such as addiction and mental health support, domestic abuse support and housing support
In-house fuel bank
Emergency grants for white goods, furniture, and essentials
Digital inclusion
What We Will Achieve with Your Support:
We are raising funds to support both our AGS and Food Bank services. Your contributions will help us provide:
Operational costs, including staff salaries, pack preparation, distribution, and running the service.
Training for our staff and volunteers, including mental health support, benefit training, trauma-informed care, ensuring we’re fully equipped to support those who are struggling with complex challenges.
The support you provide will help us continue to be a lifeline for those in need, providing not just food, but hope and a path to a brighter future.
