Aim: Support people at risk of homelessness, poverty and hunger in Derby and Derbyshire

Who we are

Padley are a local Derby Charity that has been supporting the people of Derby since 1985

What we are trying to do and why it is important

Our vision is that no one in Derby or Derbyshire is affected by homelessness and the associated poverty and social isolation.

Padley Group supports and empowers those affected by homelessness to improve their lives. We achieve this by providing:

  • An accepting and safe environment with meaningful activities that improve health and develop self-confidence, relationships and wellbeing.
  • Food, toiletries, clothes and facilities to meet basic needs.
  • Support, advice, training and volunteering opportunities to improve financial security and independence.
  • Support to move into and sustain a tenancy.

We work in partnership with other organisations and agencies so those affected by homelessness can access shared pathways of support and receive the most effective and holistic services.

The impact of Covid 19

Covid 19 has impacted our fundraising activities. We had to cancel our events due to covid restrictions. Covid also affected our supporters being able to fundraise and donate. This has meant we have fundraised just over £100,000 less this financial year.

What we need the funding for

We need the funding to be able to continue to provide the services we do at the Padley Day Centre. Here we provide hot food, clothing, toiletries, shower facilities, emergency food parcels, support sessions which include wellbeing and confidence-building activities as well as life skills.

The National Emergencies Trust donated to this cause

The National Emergencies Trust has provided £5,390 of match funding
